Martin’s career spans radio and television broadcasting to strategic leadership for organizations like the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, The Alberta College of Paramedics, and NorQuest College.
A communicator and public relations professional, Martin helps companies share their story, build high-performance teams and strengthen stakeholder relations.
When he’s not doing those things, Martin enjoys volunteering with the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. His past volunteer board roles include the Canadian Public Relations Society, The United Way, and Edmonton and Area Corporate Challenge.
A born-and-raised Edmontonian, Martin enjoys life in the city with his wife, two adult children and two dogs. Skiing, boating and live music are a few faves. Whenever given the chance, he introduces his family (well, the dogs don’t care much) to the next “must-see” film, everything from blockbusters and indie flicks to docs and foreign films.
Martin wishes he would have kept track of how many movies he’s seen in his lifetime as he believes the number would be impressive (to him anyway). His daughter recently told him, “You should have been in the movie business”. Martin looks forward to getting one step closer through his volunteer work with EIFF.
